United Fans fancy title chances

Following last night’s 0-0 draw at Newcastle, fans flocked to the Talking Reds forum to have their say.

Some bemoaned the Reds’ inability to take three points at St James’ Park. A few questioned Sir Alex’s team selection and tactics. But many were positive after taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture. United, after all, are still top of the league...

Here are a selection of comments:

Jim21 People are overreacting big time. We are still top of the league and even if Arsenal win we’ll still be four points ahead.

Issynazar I said a few weeks ago when people were predicting scores that this game and the Blackburn game would be tricky and I went for draws. I was hoping to be wrong, but unfortunately I was right. So, four wins guarantees the title now, but we all know it won't go that way - the nature of this season suggests that once you think you're onto a winner you get shot down.

Andy Berba We have played so many games recently, not to mention a semi-final on Wembley’s energy-sapping pitch. It was bound to be a tough game at Newcastle. They’re the second highest Premier League home scorers with 36 home goals – many teams have been destroyed there this season. We didn't concede, had a blatant penalty turned down and created some decent openings.

Bobyeung18 I'm a little bit disappointed for the 0-0 draw but it's not a bad result. After Arsenal drew with Liverpool on Sunday we just need to win all the home games and not lose the away games. That will be enough for us to win the trophy back.

Makaveli1 I wouldn’t say it’s a good result but it’s in no way a bad result either. We’re seven points clear in the title race with five games to play.

Edozmw I don’t think it was a good result at all. Forget how Arsenal and Chelsea performed at Newcastle - that shouldn't be our benchmark. We had enough chances to put the game away but we squandered them mainly due to poor finishing and rushed decisions.
