'Strong squad' for derby

Sir Alex Ferguson has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Manchester derby at Wembley on Saturday.

Although Wayne Rooney is controversially ruled out through suspension, the rest of the squad involved in the Champions League win over Chelsea came through it unscathed.

Darren Fletcher remains sidelined, even though he is back in training, but there is intense competition for places for a starting spot in the FA Cup semi-final clash.

“Everyone is fit from the other night,” revealed the boss. “We’re missing Wayne obviously which is the only downside.

“We’ve got a strong squad – our bench the other night reflect that.

“’Fletch’ is back in training although he’s not doing a lot. He’s put weight back on which is good. He’s still a couple of weeks away.”

The manager is expecting a great occasion at Wembley with big-spending City desperate to end their 35-year trophy drought.

“It should be an exciting game. We go into it with great confidence, we’re playing well and we’re ready for it,” he vowed. "City have a strong squad and they've got plenty of experience. You have to play well to win at Wembley.”
