Shannon Brown switches hands on the dunk, Kobe Bryant is impressed

Shannon Brown has had an up-and-down season in Los Angeles. His shooting once was up, swishing around 43 percent from long range in November and December, before moving down to the mid-20s in January, February and March.

Luckily, the high-flyer is still consistently great at one thing. Going way, way up, before coming down.

His Laker teammate Kobe Bryant, himself the winner of the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest, was suitably impressed:

"I give it a 10, no question," Bryant said. "It was just ridiculous. His explosiveness is out of this world. I don't know if I could do that. I did a lot of [stuff], but that ..."

It'd be nice to think Kobe just walked away from the reporters in mid-sentence, disappeared for six weeks, only to turn up for the second round of the playoffs with an entire series of hand-switching dunks to show off.

He'd also have several new tattoos, a goatee, and a working knowledge of how to strip and repair old Triumph roadsters … but this fantasy is probably too much to ask.

Instead, he probably just didn't know how to properly describe a dunk as awesome as that one. Clearly, Kobe and I are in the same boat.

Video of the spectacular dunk can be viewed below:
