Tale Of The Game
After successive wins in the Premier League, Chelsea should be confident against one of their rivals for the top positions.

In September Carlos Tévez scored the only goal of the game at the City of Manchester Stadium, their third win in three games against Chelsea.

Last season City won this fixture 4-2 but Chelsea finished with nine men after losing Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack to red cards.

City have 22 away points; only Arsenal (25) have more points on their travels so far this season.

These teams have met 13 times at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League but in between the last and first, both won 4-2 by City, the visitors have scored just two goals in 11 games.

Before last season’s 4-2 win, City had failed to score in their previous seven visits, losing six and drawing one.

Chelsea test Alex and Yossi Benayoun, who could both return after long term injuries.

Fernando Torres came off the bench in the midweek 0-0 Champions League draw with Copenhagen and failed, for the seventh (six at Chelsea) game in succession, to score – his longest spell in English football without a goal.

City, meanwhile, are still missing James Milner, Shay Given and Adam Johnson, all of whom show no signs of returning.

Stat of the game: Carlos Tévez has scored five goals in his last four games against Chelsea, for United and City.
